Links | Between Vireda and Örserum is a moped and Motorcycle mueum situated. This is not a small hobby museum and instead a serious collection of nostalgi moped and mc:s. Everything close to Gränna city close to lake Vättern. Or what do say about 250 mopeds, 50 motorcycles, 60 old cycles and a collection of boat engines.
But thare are too few paying visitors and the question is how long this collection will be left. There is no private museum that have good economi. 53-year old Anders Arnesson change his cows for mostalgi machines like mopeds and mc:s. This he got a farmers working desease in his legs and could not continue as a farmer. For six years he collected the machines on stand and for four years ha have had the museum opened eleven hours a day May to September. 1400 visitors every summer are too few. It is not a quick collection. All machines are niceely renovated and have got clear text notes. It is nicely arranged and shown in Anders old prepared barn. | It is is an almost pedantic order and the old barn is cleaned from all hay, when you enter. The whole barn was high pressure washed before Anders started to made up the barn area as a museum. Of course you can get a cup of coffee and cake. The problems are instead marketing and to get the vehicle dreamers to visit Bjorkenas. Many times women stay outside when her husband goes inside. As for the moment my fee is just good enough for fire insurance, Anders say with a sad face. Another problem is signing boards. These are only allowed to be placed 20 km from the museum. The authorities state that it is only for culture. – As this isn't culture? Anders say. I agree. It is pure and fine motor culture and those who find there way to Bjorkenas can go around for hours and admire all two wheelers on stand. It is called Nostalgi. After paper article in Tranaspaper. |

Honda 1949 - Soichiro Honda, 1906-1991. He worked at home in his father's garage for bicycles and motorcycles. He realized, after the WWII, that people needed transportation vehicles and bought one stock of surplus mc engines. With these he built his first mc 1947 and called it Type A. (Bugatti called his first car for Type 1). 1948 he formed Honda Motor Company. When he got his partner Fujisawa, who also had the knowledge how to handle finances, they succeeded to roll the company through the difficult years after the war. In the middle of the 1950th the company started to grow and late 1959 they had a good control of the market. | He realized that big selling was due to success on the competition tracks and he made that. 1958 he put out an enormous seller, a moped with 50 cc engine. Just what Asia needed. 100000 was manufactured a month!! 1968 the CB750 four was announced. This was a mc with several new things like electric starter and disk brakes. Now Honda was controlling the market and produced one after the other several hits. Very much depending of that he never let a bad construction leave the works. Sucn a Honda 750 four can be seem at Surahammar MC museum. This type is a motorcycle that made the world astonished and completely outclass the English mc industry. He never got a bad reputation. |

In small scale he started a bussines for cycles during spring 1909 with Carl Bertholdsson and an errand boy. | Even if a workshop was on hand he made no repairing works until 1912-13, then he had about 20 workers. The success during and after WWI filled his business locals at Kyrkogatan which he had bought 1916 and 1925 it was time to expand with a new factory near Varberg and name change to Varbergs Cycle Factory. |

Kuli. Just a thought. One moped engine fully constructed and manufactured in Sweden. Already 1947-48. The working name was first TFA-engine, but got then after the first serial production the name Rondo and resellers were Konsum and PUB. The name Kuli was used by other resellers. The last name was a travesty on the Rickshaws you see in some Asian countries. Kuli is the name of the hauler. This is a good name for a moped engine. Gottfried Darck an engineer i Stockholm started to construct a moped engine, hoping to earn some money. His main idea was that it must be able to mount on all sorts of cycles, without any need for workshop. To create such a help engine usually is easy in the beginning. But it always come a point when problems arise. In the start it was discussion how the engine should be mounted. Gottfrid had many suggestions to deal with. Mounted in the front wheel, ont the steering handle inside the frame over the pedal center, under the pedal center on the rear carrier and inside the rear wheel. At last after all considerations he chose to mount it besides the wheel just like Victoria and Saxonet. This idea wa known in Sweden since 1947. Everything was nice until construction of get the power over to the wheel without dismantle the rear wheel. | As all ready made solutions this seems to be very simple. But it demands a longer time of pondering. Between the spokes a split ring, which had 2+1 projecting reaching just outside the spokes. On these a belt disk drive is mounted. Now it was possible to mount drive components without dismantle the rear wheel. But we have forgotten how the three projectors could put power to the wheel without interfere the spokes. In the center of the wheel you have the wheel bearing and brake, inside the hub. Around this the three projectors are screwed together clamped together. In this way the foot brake was still working. Then it was onley three wires for gas, compression valve and clutch. Genius. See picture. 1950 AB Allmotor in Örebro began to produce the KULI-engine. About 100 engines were made, the most for testing. 1951 the serial production started in small scale at Görtz workshop in Örebro and about 500 engines were produced. 1953 was the real brake through for help engines and KULI-engine was in serial production at Johnson works. At these works later sintermetal was produced for bushings imbibed with oil. The modern not allowed engine year 2000 variant today is the motor saw. Between the years 1953 and 1956 4000 engines were made and sold for 450 Skr. |

The Cycle factory of Trelleborg worked in a laid down factory since 1994. It was founded 1923 by Carl Liljeberg. From the beginning the production was done in a small scale by cycles of the mark TV and sold mostly by the local business in the Trelleborg city. The small factory also manufactured frames and other things for outside cycle firms. 1940 the firm was started again into a stock company and in the same time it was increased. 1947 they started to use the well known name Mustang. Cycles of the mark Royal was also produced and delivered to small cycle firms. The last mark was used later for imported cycles. | During the years of 1952-84 mopeds were also manufactured and it was given the name Mustang. Example for different models of Mustang was Mamba, Cross and Cobra. The cobra was sold in three different typrs, Cobra 1000, 20000, and 5000. Mustang moped models used engines from Zündapp. 1989 the factory was bought by Smith & Co (SCO) and laid down 1994. The Mamba was produced between 1968-1983 and was very popular during 1970. The moped had 2 or 3 geared Zündapp engine with 1 ps. Mustang Mamba was sold both with and without the lower engine fastening. The tank had screwed tank lock, all depending of year model. Fram-King. Company Bernhard Öberg & Co was founded by Bernhard Öberg 1897 and started to produce cycles with the badge Fram . The comany had locals just beside their concurrent Nyman company. Bernhard Öberg & Co owned production locals at Svartbäcksgatan 14 Uppsala. Josef Eriksson took over a barn at Österplan where the factory stayed from 1917 up to 1960 when Öberg moved to Verkstadsgatan 8 in Uppsala. After that the production had moved from Verkstadsgatan were some frame parts produced in Brunna nearby Uppsala. The factory at Verkstadsgatan 8 is still left and is used by a workshop company. The old factory of Fram, or Joffes as it was called, at Österplan is still left and is used for theatre activities. The name Fram was probably taken from the explorer Fritiofs Nansen ship Fram. | The production was taken over by AB Josef Erikssons Cycle factory (Later AB Josef Eriksson) 1905 and this company was then bought by Industrial Company King in Helsingborg, which once had started the mark King 1932. Fram changed name to Cycle Factory Fram 1955 and two years later they produced the 3-wheel Fulda. This cycle car was ready mounted at the Helsingborg factory. Instead they were agents for German three wheelers, like Messerschmidt Kabinenroller and Heinkel Trojan. 1973 the production was moved to Helsingborg. Cycles was now named Fram-King and during 1980 it gradually disappeared. Monark Crescent took over Fram-King 1986. Monark had earlier used this badge King. The mark Fram now belongs to the history. Fram King Fulda S7 1959 Partly transcript from museum info. In the shadow after WWII the need for cheap cars was great. The German Norbert Stevenson constructed in the end of 1940 a small simple three wheeled car. It was named Fulda after the village were it was built. The first prototype was ready 1950. Economical help had come from a Bosch merchant Karl Schmidt. Next prototype used corrugated sheet-iron,1953, and later a more rounded version covered with aluminum. The plastic variant was not on the market until 1957. In Sweden one was allowed to drive these three-wheeler cars with motorcycle driving license. This was the cause why quite many was sold. The first cars came to Sweden 1954-1955. They were license built by Nordwest-Deutscher Fahrzeugbau, NWF. The cars were imported by Sica-Import. NWF went bankruptcy 1955. | The Swedish motorcycle producer Fram-King started 1957 to build Fuldamobil on license. Fram-King had engaged one of the engineers from Fulda, Adolf Sandler. He had just developed a chariot by glass fiber for Fulda and suggested the Swedish firm to use that. The frame was manufactured by Fram in Uppsala. The chariot in glass fiber was made by a firm Venplast, on the island Ven in Öresund. Unfortunately their production locals was set on fire and it was taken over by Fibre in Roskilde. The Swedish car became a better product than the German. The production of Fram-Fulda continued between 1957-1962. Totally 411 cars were built. Engine: One cylinder two stroke Sachs. Volume: 198 cm³. Power: 10 ps at 5250 rpm. Weight: 310 kg. Glass fiber chariot. Top speed: 80 km/h. Petrol consumption: 0,25 l/min. |

Most mopeds of this type was private imported to Sweden. | The type had difficulties with registrations in Sweden, mainly for it's weight which was 78 kg. The bound for a light mc in Sweden was 75 kg. Furthermore the engine power was 3 ps and 3.7 ps. The limit for an EU moped today is 2 ps. This demands registration and drivers licence. With 3.7 ps it was for sure a motorcycle. These three offered different models and to differ them from each other they had own colors. |

Moped Husqvarna Roulette Belt
Husqvarna is a Swedish manufacturer that produced weapons, motorcycles, and mopeds. They built their their first moped, the Novolette, in 1952. This first model was essentially a bicycle with a bolted-on 40cc engine. The engine was later enlarged to 44cc and fitted with a two speedgearbox as an option.
Sometime around 1956-57 came the second model, the Roulette, which got its name from the induction system via a rotary slide valve. It was difficult to increase the power significantly from 0.8 hp, but it was a reliable and very good-looking moped designed by the well-known designer Sixten Sason. It was available both as two and three speed (very rare) versions. Some other models followed, such as the Cornette and the scooter-moped Corona.

In 1963, Monark Crescent and Husqvarna formed MCB. Husqvarna manufactured all(?) engines for the different MCB models, like the recently developed E-engine. Some enthusiasts believe that 1962 was the last year for the 'real' Husqvarna mopeds, although the name lived for some years on.
